“TERMITE PEST CONTROL CANBERRA 3 TIMES LUCKY!”…

I have been telling a few horror stories of what has happened when property owners do not have regular termite inspections here is another story of 3 strikes and your out – please read on.
Bob and the team were called out to O’Connor (Nth Canberra) and its not the first time that we have found live termites in their home but the owner thought that by us chasing the termites out that would be enough to get rid of his problem – wrong!
The termites had attacked the house in the opposite direction and again we mentioned the termite barrier to be installed asap to protect the house from further invasion but we got “I will think about and give you a call”
3 months now past and we got another call same address HELP the termites have been found in another area of the home and “we want them GONE for good when can you do the job!”
Finally, common sense prevailed and not we are installing a chemical barrier with 8 year 2 million dollar assurance that the termites WILL NOT be back!
We have worked out that the damage done the termite barrier would of saved them money if they got it done the first time before any further damage was done.
Book a Termite Pest Control Inspection TODAY Call Bob 0407 065 413
Please look at the damage termites can do in the older video below the story was picked up by Current Affairs.

NEED RAT OR POSSUM PEST CONTROL?

When the temperature is cold we have heating going indoors to keep us warm and heat rises so it is toasty warm in roof voids which is attractive to both possums and bush rats.

In the quiet of the night you will hear scratching sound or it could sound like someone tap dancing in army boots!

Normally we will get a call in the morning to ask us to come and check out the noise in the roof and through droppings we can tell if you have possums or rats and then take the appropriate action.

if its bush rats we will bait them and for possums we trap and release the possums (as they are protected). Before we do this though we find out where they are getting in so you can seal the area.

Possums travel in pairs and when you have trapped one and get all excited you do not want to seal where they are getting in until you have trapped the 2nd possum.

If you have noises in your call Bob 00407 065 413 who will investigate and fix your problem once and for all.

Mosquito prevention Tips in Canberra

Mosquito prevention Tips

In Australia we are now at the peak of Mosquito season and with the global news on Zika virus we know that it can be contained in Australia. Below I have given you information from Pest Manager magazine that you will find interesting.
Zika Virus information:
“The Zika virus has been spreading rapidly through the Americas and illustrating how quickly the diseases can move with global travel, the first cases have now been confirmed in Australia. There have been 2 separate cases of people returning from an overseas (one a pregnant woman) have been tested positive for the Zika Virus. However, experts believe that Australia is well placed to have it contained.”
“While dozens of mosquito species in Australia are capable of spreading viruses such as Ross River, only one yellow fever mosquito in far north Queensland is capable of transmitting Zika.”
Knowing that piece of information is good to know and thankfully in Canberra we are protected from the Zika but not from the pesky mosquito and its always prevention is better than cure let’s look at what we can do to prevent mosquitos breeding.
Mosquito prevention tips:
  • Pot plants: Don’t let water stand in pot plant saucer – after watering the plant empty the excess
  • Ponds and water features: Ensure that there are enough fish in the pond to eat the mosquito larvaeand keep vegetation away from the edge of the water
  • Drains and gutters: Keep drains free of leaves and allow the water to run freely
  • Rainwater tanks: Rainwater tanks need to have solid close fitting lids on any access point and mosquito proof meshes on all inlets and overflows needs mesh less than 1mm. This prevents access by adult mosquitoes and also prevents eggs to larvae being washed in from pooled water in the gutter.
  • Swimming pools: Ensure that salt and chlorine levels are kept up and remove any leaves from the pool
  • Site drainage: Don’t let puddles sit idle for any length of time as this is the ideal breeding area for mosquitoes.
With evenings still warm at night to be having BBQ’s you may want to consider JakMax the Terminator a safe environmental product that will kill off the mossies and allow you to eat outside without being bitten.
